Our guiding principle is that every person is completely good.

And every person has been deeply hurt. A society built on social disparities harms us all.

By reconnecting with our goodness, and reclaiming our inherent healing capacity, we can stop the cycle of oppression that separates, divides, and leaves us vulnerable to acting out our hurts on ourselves and others.

Our mission is to end oppression and transform our society by centering listening and connection so that each of us can come home to ourselves, each other, and the planet.

Who We Work With

For over 30 years LJIST has supported tens of thousands of individuals and hundreds of organizations in transformative racial healing.

We work with leaders* in every sector who recognize that where they are is harder than where they fear to go and are ready to face those fears.

We work around the globe and expertly in multi-lingual and interpreted events.

*We believe everyone is a leader.

Our Story

LJIST has been providing in-person and remote transformative learning and healing experiences since 1994.

LJIST’s approach to social change builds on work first started by Dr. Erica “Ricky” Sherover-Marcuse and continued by Lillian Roybal Rose, M.Ed.

Based in Portland, Oregon, USA, Nanci Luna Jiménez is training a diverse team of Apprentices, Associates, and staff in the US, Belize, and Algeria to lead this transformational work and carry this legacy forward.
