    INTRO COACHING PROGRAM

    Coaching Support for Individuals

    Our Intro Coaching Program is a special, one-time offer that provides individuals with a unique opportunity to receive one-on-one support while they learn about and engage with key LJIST frameworks and practices.

    This service is particularly well-suited to people who have not previously completed a LJIST program.

The LJIST Intro Coaching Program offers participants three (3) 1-hour 1-on-1 coaching sessions with a LJIST Coach. These sessions must be completed within three months of signing up, but can also be completed more quickly if immediate support is needed. During this program, you can expect to:

  • Have quick access to LJIST Coach!
  • Be supported as you address a short-term or immediate challenge;
  • Gain new insights with compassionate listening and understanding;
  • Experience increased capacity to trust your own thinking and have more creative approaches to your current challenge;
  • Make a more informed decision about whether to engage in LJIST’s year-long Transformational Coaching Program; and,
  • Identify concrete next steps for moving forward.

Your LJIST coach will support you to re-examine your current situation and your response to it using the lens of oppression theory.  Additionally, you will be guided to question underlying and often unconscious assumptions and to identify creative solutions with new-found insight and understanding.

Our Coaches

During sign-up, you select which LJIST Coach you'd like to work with. Our coaches bring unique expertise and experience to your relationship.

Nanci Luna Jiménez, CPF, LJIST Founder and President, supports individuals to understand how systemic oppression affects their lives, their work, and their relationships with others, then supports them to envision and make revolutionary changes through personal healing.

Kathleen Rice, Ph.D., CTF, LJIST Associate, is passionate about supporting individuals engaging in work that is challenging, liberating, and systems-changing, and she has particular experience working on issues of equity, disabilities, and White communities.

    GETTING THE MOST FROM YOUR SESSIONS
    Plan to not be interrupted for the entire time of your coaching or peer listening sessions. This means not only no personal interruptions but also no phone calls nor text messages for the entire time. Please communicate to anyone who might interrupt that this is a time that you cannot be disturbed.

    Plan to clear space (emotional and on your calendar), whenever possible, immediately after your coaching or peer listening sessions. Sometimes things will come up that you might want some extra time to transition to the next thing or to simply process (journaling or reflecting) on your own. You will get more out of these sessions if you build this time into your calendar now. Please communicate with anyone who might have access to your calendar that this is not “open” time to be scheduled over; this is part of the coaching experience.

    Each session will include the following:
    • Check-in
    • Updates on any new insights or shifts from last session
    • Key issues or challenges facing at this time
    • Constructivist Listening Time: Coachee will have designated listening time.
    • Optional: Coachee will give listening attention to Coach to develop listening skills.
    • What worked well in the session? Anything to adjust next time?
    • Closing

    Coach and Coachee will collaborate to determine agreements for documentation of sessions. If desired, notes will be documented on the Coachee’s confidential Asana board. No confidential material will be included without the express permission of the Coachee.

    The coaching sessions are meant to meet the needs of the Coachee. The Coachee will determine the agenda. The Coachee is also responsible for using the session to shift behaviors, implement actions and be accountable for achieving their goals for the coaching experience.
