We partner with individuals and organizations who are committed to leading in the visionary work of ending racism through personal healing and principled action.
Our collaborative approach centers listening, human connection, caring, and emotional release to generate systemic change and transform our world, one revolutionary relationship at a time.
Virtual Learning & Healing
LJIST’s virtual learning and healing opportunities follow four learning series: Foundations, Racial Healing, Leadership, and Application and are available in several formats, lengths, and price levels. Browse the offerings below for more details and information on how to participate or book.
Healing Together Gatherings
LJIST’s gift or dana Healing Together Gatherings (HTGs) embody our belief that sanctioned healing spaces are part of a just society. On the fourth Wednesday of most months, we apply our core healing practice of Constructivist Listening to a current topic. These 90-minute virtual sessions are open to anyone—new and returners alike. Pre-registration is required and will not be capped, but we are only able to admit the first 90 participants to the session. NOTE: HTGs are not available for purchase. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to share, promote, and return as often as they’d like.
On-Demand Webinars allow individuals and groups immediate access to a LJIST teaching. Each On-Demand Webinar draws one hour of content from the Virtual Workshop of the same name. On-Demand Webinars are ideal for:
- Previewing content of a workshop you might want to attend or bring to your organization
- Bringing a LJIST teaching to a conference, organizational retreat, or other large gathering
- Sharing learning with colleagues, friends, or family who weren’t able to attend a Virtual Workshop you attended
- Deepening your individual learning
Getting Listened To
Getting Listened To (GLT) is our highly recommended prerequisite for Virtual Workshops. This three-hour session introduces participants to the LJIST Theory of Healing and Constructivist Listening practice: the foundation to all of our offerings. This content is so essential that all public workshop registrants as well as contracted clients can attend once for free. For a fee, individuals can sign up for public offerings as a stand-alone learning experience. Organizations can also host private sessions.
LJIST’s Virtual Workshops provide deeper learning in a specific topic, with 9 hours of live content facilitated over 3 days and an additional 3+ hours of asynchronistic, individual learning. LJIST’s innovative virtual learning experiences are designed for collaboration, community, and play. They translate our core values into a powerful tool for social justice learning.
LJIST Community Membership Program
LJIST's annual Community Membership Program provides immediate access to resources, including unlimited viewing of our entire On-Demand Webinar suite. Members also receive additional benefits like 20% off public offering registration and more!
In-Person Transformational Programs
Our signature Transformational Programs offer the deepest engagement with our teachings. Each Transformational Program begins with a 4-day in-person retreat followed by a companion 10-week remote Just Listening small-group coaching program. Just Listening supports the Community of Practice with instructional videos, small group coaching sessions, and weekly Listening Partnership sessions that solidify and integrate participants’ learning in their work and lives.
Transforming Relationships Program: Grounding Social Justice in Understanding and Connection
Transforming Relationships* is our entry-level program and pre-requisite for our other Transformational Programs. This program focuses on practices and teaching that underscore how just relationships based on love, trust, and understanding are necessary for systemic change and social justice.
*Formerly Transformational Communications Program (TCP)
Transforming Racial Healing Program: Mourning the Impacts of Racism to Reclaim Our Humanity
Transforming Racial Healing applies the practices and learning from our Transforming Relationships Program, a prerequisite, to the work of ending racism. This program embraces the necessary healing to move out of rage, grief, and numbness toward forgiveness and reparations as we create a world without racism.
Transforming Leadership Program: Embracing Sustainable and Joyful Practices for a Just World
Transforming Leadership explores the intersection of oppression and leadership. Applying tools and teachings from our Transforming Relationships Program, this program centers equity and healing as we re-imagine leadership: yours and others'.
Transforming Women Program: (Re)producing Justice by Healing Mother(hood) and Sister(hood)
Transforming Women renews, unleashes, and supports women’s initiative. We will reconnect with our power while healing in community with other female leaders on a shared journey to eliminate sexism, with all its intersections. This program is for females and intersex people who identify as female.
Social Justice Coaching
Guided by our core principles, LJIST’s Social Justice Coaching Programs offer coaching with an understanding of and commitment to heal from institutional and internalized oppression. Each of LJIST’s four Social Justice Coaching Programs has a different focus, level of commitment, and pre-requisites. Whichever coaching path you choose, you can expect to gain personal insights, greater ability to trust your thinking, and confidence to take bolder action as you move out of old patterns and toward alignment with your values—all with compassionate listening and support.
Just Listening creates a Community of Practice (CoP) committed to embodying LJIST's Theory of Healing for Social Justice using Constructivist Listening. Participants of this small group coaching program meet weekly in Listening Partnerships (established during the first meeting). A workbook, micro-learnings videos, and weekly emails support the Listening Partnership practice throughout the 10-week program. At the midway point and the end of Just Listening, participants join a 2-hour small group video coaching session facilitated by the LJIST team. Cohorts are limited to 8 people.
LJIST’s Intro Coaching Program offers personalized, 1-on-1 support for an immediate and short-term DEI or social justice challenge. Your LJIST coach will support you to re-examine your current situation and your response to it and identify creative solutions with new-found insight and understanding.
LJIST’s 6-month Facilitation Coaching Program provides support for DEI Committee, Employee Resource Group, or Affinity Group facilitators to lead more inclusive meetings, guide more equitable processes, and facilitate challenging DEI conversations. Together with your Facilitation Coaching Partner, you will find new energy to facilitate from a place of healing, connection, and compassion in order to achieve outcomes rooted in justice for all.
Transforming Relationships Coaching
The Transformational Relationships Coaching Program is a year-long* coaching journey for graduates of LJIST’s Transformational Relationships Program. This program is for individuals who want more personalized and ongoing support to apply the frameworks and practices learned in the program. Together with your Coaching Partner, you will heal and shift behaviors and attitudes rooted in internalized oppression and dominance.
*This program can be renewed once for a total of two years.
Transforming Leadership Coaching
LJIST’s 6-month Transformational Leadership Coaching Program provides personalized and ongoing support to apply the frameworks and practices learned in the Transformational Leadership Program. Together with your Coaching Partner, you will find (re)new(ed) energy for leading: rooted in social justice and supported by healing, connection and compassion.
Social Justice Facilitation & Organizational Consulting
Guided by our core principles, LJIST offers a range of facilitation, planning, and consulting services. These offerings can stand alone or be paired with learning and healing, coaching, or other offerings. They are meant to address organizational needs informed by oppression theory and transformational racial healing.
Social Justice Retainers
For Clients who want on-going support from LJIST with on-call consulting, customized facilitated sessions, focused systems change and organizational work, we offer our Social Justice Retainers. Retainers are available in 6-month or 1-year terms. They offer the greatest flexibility for support and the most partner benefits, including group discounts on public workshop registration and priority for our coaching availability.
Social Justice Historical Journey
The LJIST Social Justice Historical Journey (SJHJ) guides organizations to reflect on their past and create a vision for the future. Using an equity lens and informed by oppression theory, this highly participatory and artfully facilitated visual timelining activity supports participants to see how the unhealed past isn’t really "past," but continues to replay and impede forward movement. This is a powerful pairing with LJIST’s Giving and Receiving Just Apologies Workshop and/or our Social Justice Action Plan.
Social Justice Action Plan
Building on an inclusive visioning process, LJIST’s Social Justice Action Plan (SJAP) supports organizations to name and realize a one-year plan for advancing their determined Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) vision. Each plan is customized to meet an organization wherever they are on their journey, while realistically assessing and maximizing available resources. Premised on the belief that any plan is only as meaningful as its implementation, LJIST’s process uncovers new energy and untapped leadership while providing personalized support to meet milestones along the way. While incredibly effective as a stand-alone experience, it’s optimal to precede the SJAP with LJIST’s Social Justice Historical Journey.
Nanci Luna Jiménez artfully applies LJIST's core teachings to a range of keynote topics. For each speaking engagement, Nanci personally meets with past and potential participants, taking the time to learn and understand their issues and concerns so that her message connects in meaningful ways. Using personal stories and interactive audience engagement, Nanci’s dynamic and compelling keynotes inspire your audience while introducing concepts of transformational healing for social justice.
